Philosophy

In order to prepare our students for the computer demands of college and work, Computer Science Department has been added. All students are required to take a semester of Introduction to Computer Science. Upon completing the course the students will be able to communicate with the computer, do research papers with the word processor, develop spreadsheets with graphs, and organize information with a database and prepare a PowerPoint presentation.

Curriculum

Introduction to Computer Sciences: 1 Semester, Grades 10, 11, or 12

This required course introduces computer technology using the Windows XP operating system and Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint) software applications. Upon completion of the course the student will be able to communicate with the computer, do term papers with the word processor, develop spreadsheets with graphs, organize information using a database, and use communications software for accessing electronic sources. This is a B–level course.
