Young Patriots Day Camps

Sessions: June 16-20; June 23-27; June 30 – July 4; July 7-11; July 14-18; July 21-25; July 28 – August 1; August 4-8; August 11-15; August 18-22

This summer, there is no better place for your son or daughter to be than the campus of The John Carroll School and a part of the Patriots Summer Camps. The Patriot summer camps provide a safe, fun environment for your child to play, learn, meet others and experience new things all on the 72-acre campus of John Carroll.

With multiple fields, gyms, strength training facilities, playgrounds, swimming, crafts, trips, computer labs, classrooms, and much more, our day camps can give you everything you are looking for in a summer growth experience.

Sport Specific Camps

Patriot Cheerleading Camp

Sessions: June 16-20

The cheerleading camp will offer instruction from the 7 time consecutive IAAM champions, The John Carroll School cheerleaders. Participants will learn dances, cheers, jumps, stunts, tumbling, and improve their strengths. It is encouraged that participants come with other members of their team. However, accommodations will be met for those that come as individuals.

Patriot Golf Camp

Sessions: June 28 - 29; July 26 - 27
Times: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Patriot Golf Camp will provide your child with a complete understanding of the golf swing, golf etiquette, course management and how to have fun on the course. We accommodate all skill levels. There is a camper maximum of 10. Our objective is to make them into their own teacher. When they leave camp on Sunday they will know what to look for in their own swing and be able to fix it right away. This camp will give your kids the spark they need to light their fire for the game! Patriot Lacrosse Camp

The goal of the Patriot Lacrosse camp is to help each player elevate his game to the next level! Camp director, Dominic Mezzanotte is a former D 1 player and college coach who works with US Lacrosse. He brings an experienced staff of college coaches and pro players. Topics covered include stick handling-cradling, passing, throwing, catching & shooting; offensive moves-set up the defense, beat the defense & finish the shot; defense-angles, footwork, aggression; structured offensive & defensive concepts-isolate 1 v 1 lanes, draws and dumps, exploit man up situations, defending the goal, cover for each other & dictate what the offense does; transitions & more.

Patriot Running Camp

Sessions: June 16th, 18th, 23rd, & 25th

Training for athletics through running, directed by JC head coach Rob Torres. Coach Torres brings 16 years of coaching experience having led the girls’ cross country team to the IAAM dual meet title the last 3 years and the boys’ track team to the MIAA B conference championship the past 2 years. Learn how to build a solid base in distance running that would be beneficial for any sport. The emphasis will be on cross country and track running, but an athlete of any sport is welcome. This program has produced Division 1 college athletes along with some of Harford Counties best runners. Join the fun and become a better faster athlete in your favorite sport.

Patriot Soccer Camp

Come join our head varsity girls coach, Gary Lynch and head varisty boys coach Simon Cotton for 4 fun filled evenings of fundamentals. The camp reaches out to all levels of experience and would provide a base leading into next soccer season.

The goals of the Patriot volleyball camp are to have fun and to learn the skills necessary to enjoy the game of volleyball throughout a lifetime. The camp is geared toward all levels: total beginners, middle school, incoming freshmen, junior varsity or experienced high school players. Regardless of an athlete’s skill level, abilities and training are specific. This principle may suggest that there is no better training than actually performing in the sport. Our drills and progressions are like the game of volleyball and always have appropriate feedback, which creates the best environment for transfer to the actual sport.

ADEPTICO soccer academies are designed for players who aspire to play soccer in college (and beyond). Our goal is simple. We help talented players to push the limits of their potential through; assessment of physical and technical abilities, high quality instruction, individualized feedback and guidance. We use analysis based coaching. This means that all of our methods are derived from the scientific analysis of soccer, and from the methods of top European professional teams. We specialize in coaching the things that set the best players apart from their peers. This includes spatial awareness, decision making, anticipation, and good technique.

Gold Star Hoops will be offering 3 different types of basketball camps for girls 7-17 years old. The Elite Camp, The Shooting Camp and The Fundamental Camp. The Elite is for the experienced player only – one who plays travel or AAU. The Shooting Camp is a one-week camp concentrating on the fundamentals of shooting. The Fundamental Camp will focus on improving a player’s offensive and defensive fundamentals of the game. We offer discounts for players attending multiple camps as well as family discounts. Directed by Tony Martin, Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at The John Carroll School. Our camp is designed to provide campers with individual attention to improve their fundamental skills. Campers will develop their entire skill set and understanding of team play through daily stations, teaching sessions and league games. Power Wrestling Camp

Coach Watson and John Carroll’s wrestling staff will teach a variety of techniques in every aspect of the sport: defense, offense, scoring, pinning combinations, lifts and throws. Live and situation wrestling will be incorporated – keeping wrestling fun while you learn. Our goal is a coach-to-wrestler ratio of 10:1, therefore we have a limit of 40 campers per session. Clinicians and counselors will be High School and NCAA All Americans.

The Football Speed Camp

Sessions: July 21-25
Times: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Football speed camp directed by Mike Edge and The Arena Club’s sports performance team, is a week of speed and agility drills getting every camper conditioned for their season. This intense camp will provide each camper with the hard work needed to give them the edge this season. Very football specific drills will be part of coach Edge’s practice.

The Gridiron Football Camp

Sessions: July 7 – 11; July 14 – 18

The Gridiron football camp, directed by Head football coach at JC Keith Rawlings, is a basic fundamentals camp for any level player. All campers will improve their skills in tackling, blocking, catching, and running. Camp instructors will put emphasis in teaching proper form as well as the safe way to hit! All drills are very specific to the game. This camp will have you ready for your season to begin! Fun flag football games will be played in reward to campers hard work during practice. Please note the July 7 – 11 session will be held at The Arena Club.

North Bay Volleyball Camp

North Bay Volleyball Association is Harford County’s first USAV Club Volleyball Association. North Bay is a member of the Chesapeake Division and USA Volleyball, supported by the US Olympic Committee. Camps will be conducted by one of Harford County’s most talented volleyball players. James is a USAV IMPACT certified coach, is a Havre de Grace alumnus, 3 times All-County, and was a Cesky finalist. Recruited by Newbury College (near Boston, Massachusetts), James helped the team to a 6th place national ranking in 2008. Newbury is a NCAA Division III Volleyball team, and won the New England Athletic Conference on 2008. They also won the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship in 2008. James is pleased to return home this summer to work with many upcoming volleyball players in Harford County.

Time Out Volleyball club offers a top of the line instructural volleyball camp. This camp is open to beginners, JV and Varsity HS players. The focus of training will be on improving each athletes skill level in offensive and defensive fundamentals of the game of volleyball. Cost of camp includes t-shirt and a volleyball.

Yankee Rebel Baseball Camp

The Yankee Rebel Baseball Camp is in its 10th season and specializes in basic skill development to help attendees reach the next level. Attention is given to proper mechanics for throwing, catching and hitting. All facets of the game are covered. Younger players benefit from receiving instruction on correcting faults in their game. Older players receive valuable instruction in preparation for playing high school baseball. The camp is run by Joe Palmer (founder of the Yankee Rebels and the Baltimore Metro Baseball League), George Cooper (Head Varsity Coach at JC), Mark Schlehr (Assistant Varsity Coach), as well as other instructors.
