The school Honor Roll is divided into two categories, First Honors and Second Honors, and is based upon a student’s weighted grade point average (GPA). Courses are weighted using a three-level weighting scale as outlined in the Academic section of the Student Handbook. GPA is determined by dividing the total number of grade points by the number of numerically graded courses. In addition to meeting the GPA requirement for the Honor Roll, students may not fail any courses. First Honors is based on a weighted GPA of 4.2 or higher; Second Honors is based on a weighted GPA of 4.0 to 4.19.
