JC Kickstart: Freshman Retreat
JC KickStart is the perfect way to begin your John Carroll experience. Led by members of the John Carroll Junior class, JC KickStart is a fun-filled day designed to help our incoming Freshmen successfully navigate the transition from being a middle school student to becoming a full-fledged JC Patriot. Our goal: to help you begin to find your place in our John Carroll School community. Before attending their first class, each and every Freshman will participate in a one-day retreat designed to help develop new friendships, learning about what it means to be a JC Patriot and having fun while exploring ways to use their God-given gifts and talents in service of our John Carroll, local and global communities.

You can register by visiting https://goo.gl/forms/Yno4E3k1jt4etHg93. Please indicate your 1st and 2nd choice of Retreat dates and we’ll do our best to make sure you get placed on one of those two sessions. The Retreats will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
This day-long service-learning retreat provides members of our Sophomore class an opportunity to better understand why serving others is such an essential element of being a JC Patriot. In groups of 12-14 students, our students are introduced to and serve adults with developmental disabilities through Beyond Capernaum, the Special Needs/Disability Ministry of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Bel Air, MD.
The Junior Retreat is a long-standing tradition at John Carroll. Since the early 1970’s, it has been our tradition to take the members of our Junior class to the Msgr. O’ Dwyer Retreat House for an overnight retreat experience. This retreat, led by peer leaders from the Senior class, challenges juniors to take a closer look at who they are, where they are going and where God might be calling them to at this stage in their lives.
The Senior Retreat is considered to be the capstone retreat experience at John Carroll. Led by a dedicated team of our JC faculty and staff, this overnight retreat experience is designed to help our seniors reflect on their life journey and give thanks for those who have been companions on their life’s journey thus far.
