Klein’s Family Markets Community Relations and Front-End Operations Director Sarah Klein '01 was elected to the Harford County Public Library Foundation’s board of directors for a three-year term. She says, “I’m always grateful for the opportunity to give back to my community. I’m a proud Harford County resident and the library foundation’s impact on the community cannot be understated." Gianna Romero '23, advocate for mental health and wellness in athletics, is named Miss Bel Air Independence Day 2024 and will go on to compete for title of Miss Maryland! Gianna was chosen through an interview process from interested applicants, and succeeds Giovanna Ward '21, Miss Bel Air 2023. Gianna will serve as official hostess in one of the region’s largest 4th of July celebrations. ​Gianna says, ​“As an athlete, instructor and community volunteer, I'm devoted to teaching youth and athletic staff about the importance of mental health and wellness in athletics. Zach Thornton '91 will be the first goalkeeper inducted into the Chicago Fire Football Club’s Hall of Fame, known as the Ring of Fire, in April! Zach is a former Fire goalkeeper and current goalkeeper coach, and widely considered a legend in the program. The Ring of Fire honors the Club’s most impactful players, coaches and executives, celebrating their accomplishments as those who embody qualities of leadership, dedication and integrity.

Patriots Ryan Vest '21 (Maryland) and Ryan Fabriziani '22 (Auburn) caught up at the 2023 Music City Bowl in Nashville, TN! Both currently play tuba at their respective schools.

Allyson Carey Grieninger '08 was inducted into the Greater Baltimore Lacrosse Hall of Fame in January 2024. This induction now makes her eligible for the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and is another well-deserved honor on her long, long list of accolades. As a player, Ally was 3x All-American at Vanderbilt University, holds four Gold Medals and was a member of the All-World Lacrosse team for USA. She is currently an Assistant Coach for the Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team at John Carroll. Go Patriots!

Congrats to Jude Brown '18 who helped lead the Men's Lacrosse Team at Salisbury University to win over Tufts University in the NCAA DIII Championship. Carson Bulger ‘21, Jack Owen ‘21, Jackson Marindin ‘21 and the HCC Fighting Owls made history as the school's first NJCAA Men's Lacrosse National Champions! Once a Patriot, Always a Patriot — and now, champions!

Plus, Alex Stewart '21 and the Barton College Men’s Lacrosse team rallied to beat North Greenville to win the 2023 Conference Carolinas Championship! Alex is the freshman goalkeeper and tallied 10 saves in the final game.

And the Tony Award goes to Suzan-Lori Parks '81! Join us in congratulating her on winning "Best Revival of a Play" for "Topdog/Underdog" at the 76th Annual Tony Awards! Parks' "Topdog/Underdog," a 2002 Pulitzer Prize winner, is a darkly comic fable of brotherly love and family identity that tells the story of two brothers, Lincoln and Booth. The brothers, with names given to them as a joke by their father, come to learn the true nature of their history.

Tracy Imm '83 is an adjunct lecturer in the Communication & Cinema and Economics & Business Administration departments at McDaniel College, and recently received the Nora Roberts Faculty Award! This award provides financial support for a faculty member to establish or build upon a social justice, service learning or community engagement project. Tracy will use the funds to continue her Social Impact Storytelling course, teaching students how to leverage storytelling as a strategic tool and giving them the opportunity to build a communications plan to support a social impact cause. Megan Cashour O'Brien '90 and her family reside in San Francisco where she teaches voice lessons. She also volunteers as the choir director at San Quentin State Prison to share her gift of music with others. Since joining the program in 2019 and after a hiatus during COVID-19, it's grown from two to 16 participants and she hopes to expand to other institutions. Katelyn Wolf Capozzoli '13 works as an Environmental Health Specialist for the Baltimore County Department of Health. In May, she began pursuing her Master's in Public Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and was one of 50 students selected and awarded the prestigious Bloomberg Fellowship for the program. Katelyn currently lives in Northern Harford County on her 6-acre property that she is slowly turning into a hobby farm!

Tyler Boyd '11 is a Resource Management Operations and Medical Information Services Flight Commander for the U.S. Air Force. He just finished a year-long tour in Turkey, stationed in the heart of the largest earthquake ever for a NATO ally. As a health officer, he was responsible for the direction of medical supplies and other needs, as theirs was the only local airstrip available with no damage. Prior to that, he assisted in the COVID-19 response in San Antonio, TX. As a result, Mount St. Mary's University, his alma mater for undergraduate studies and first master's degree, named Tyler the 2023 Distinguished Young Alumni! Thank you for your service, Tyler!

From bikes to motorcycles, these lifelong friends from the Class of 1975 are still rolling strong! Earlier this fall, they took a trip down memory lane by riding back to school and posing for a picture on the very same front steps where their friendship began.

Andrew Dennison '10, Ben Volker ‘08 and Steven Farrell ‘08 are members of the Southern Lacrosse Officials Organization and were recognized as the Scholastic Official of the Year Awards for the 2023 season. In addition, Andrew and Ben were accepted into the National Intercollegiate Lacrosse Officials Association and will begin officiating college lacrosse in the spring of 2024.

Michael Chipi '20, now a senior at Mount St. Mary's, was just named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week earlier this month! He comes off a first-place win at the Dutchmen Invitational, finishing the 8k course in just 25:33.1 and ahead of 169 runners. Congrats, Michael!
