Important Admissions Dates & Deadlines
Below is a calendar of the important Admissions dates and deadlines for students applying for the 2023–24 school year.

September 14: Online Registration Opens for the High School Placement Test (HSPT)

All applicants are required to take the HSPT which will be used to determine course placement as well as merit-based awards.
September 20: Shadow Days BeginDo you want to know what a day in a life of a Patriot looks like? Between now and December 9, your student will be paired with a JC freshman or sophomore student ambassador and will attend classes, meet faculty, administrators, coaches and other students. Most importantly, your student will get a true feel for a day in the life of a JC Patriot and begin to picture themselves as a part our community, where every Patriot has a story! Space is limited so sign up early! Be sure to fill out your interests so that we can best pair you with a current student. If you wish to be paired with a specific student, please email admissions@johncarroll.org no later than 48 hours prior to your visit.
September 27, October 12, November 15, December 7: Discovering John Carroll “The unique way of experiencing Open House” -
All families will be invited to hear a brief overview of John Carroll and the admissions process before heading to their breakout sessions. Prospective students will participate in two breakout sessions and parents will be invited to choose three breakout sessions of their liking. These mini Open Houses are limited to 60 families per event, so make sure to check our website for registration! All sessions will take place in Learning Commons from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. This event is strictly for 8th-grade students and their families.

December 3: HSPT Test (incoming freshmen only; not required for transfer students.) -
AoB middle schools offer the test for students who attend those schools. John Carroll will hold the HSPT for those students whose schools do not offer the HSPT. Click here to sign up.

Students applying for select programs will receive information after the first of the year with instructions on how to sign up for an interview. For applicants only.
February 15-16: Decision Day! -
Students learn if they have been accepted and scholarship recipients are also notified via a letter mailed on February 15. Decision emails are sent out at 4 p.m. on February 16 to the parent email address submitted with the application.
February 24: New Student Welcome Reception
March 2: Registration Deadline to Secure Your Place for the 2023–24 School Year!
