Educational experiences tailored to student needs
The John Carroll School endeavors to provide an equitable opportunity for all students to succeed inside and outside the classroom. We provide several educational support services aimed to provide a preparatory environment that helps each student learn how to advocate, find success and carry those lessons onward.
Support services
St. Joseph Program
The St. Joseph Program provides highly motivated students with documented learning differences an opportunity to succeed in a challenging college preparatory environment. Recognizing that each student has a unique approach to learning, the St. Joseph Program endeavors to make students aware of their personal learning styles and then establish strategies to accomodate that style. Student receive individualized accommodation in the classroom and monitoring toward the achievement of personal goals. An additional fee applies.
For questions, please contact St. Joseph Program Director Mrs. Kelly Roiy.
Academic Support Program
The Academic Support Program is dedicated to empowering high school students to reach their full academic potential and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom. This program provides educational support for students who may experience difficulty with the transition to high school or with the demands of a college preparatory curriculum. Acceptance into the program may include students with a 504 plan and/or low HSPT scores and middle school or incoming grades. An additional fee applies.
For questions, please contact Academic Support Program Coordinator, Mr. Jordan Smith.
Learning Accommodations
Students enrolled in the Learning Accommodations group have an Individualized Accommodation Plan that ensures students have equal access to education through utilizing accommodations. Eligible students must provide a psycho-educational evaluation (public or private), 504 plan, or other resulting diagnosis. Learning Accommodations students are self-led advocates and self-advocate to the classroom teachers when extended time or other classroom accommodations are needed. There is no additional fee for this program and students do not have access to the testing room.
For questions, please contact Mrs. Kelly Roiy.
