Mrs. Lisa Collins Honored as Catholic High School Teacher of the Year
We're incredibly proud to share that Mrs. Lisa Collins, Fine Arts Department Chair, was honored as the Catholic High School Teacher of the Year by the Knights of Columbus in March. She is pictured with Dawn DeVoe, parent of Evan Devoe ’25, who was honored as the Elementary Catholic School Teacher of the Year for her work at St. Margaret School.
Mrs. Collins has been a member of the John Carroll community for over 10 years, and currently teaches Drawing and Design, Architecture and Computer-Aided Design. She is organized, professional and a strong advocate for her department members. She works long hours planning effective and engaging lessons to highlight the strengths of each of her students. A true supporter of the arts, Mrs. Collins is also the coordinator of our Fine Arts Diploma with Distinction in Visual Arts.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Collins moderates our Architecture, Engineering and Design Club, and provides students with real-world experiences as well as opportunities for college and career exploration. Mrs. Collins has led mission trips to an impoverished area of Appalachia each summer.
Congratulations, Mrs. Collins and Mrs. DeVoe, on this tremendous accomplishment!
